Errors may occasionally occur. We reserve the right to correct inaccuracies at any time without prior notice, including after an order has been submitted.

6. Electronic Communications

7. Privacy

Your use of this Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, store, and disclose your information.

By using the Site, you acknowledge that you have reviewed our Privacy Policy.

8. Products

The Rug Line specializes in handcrafted, hand-knotted, hand-tufted, hand-loomed, flatweave, and other artisan rugs sourced from skilled craftsmen. Due to the handmade nature of many of our products, no two rugs are exactly alike.

Each rug is individually crafted, and minor variations should be expected and appreciated as characteristics of authentic handmade workmanship rather than manufacturing defects.

All products are subject to availability. We reserve the right to discontinue products, modify product specifications, or limit quantities offered for sale at any time without prior notice.

9. Handmade Rug Characteristics

Handmade rugs naturally contain variations that distinguish them from machine-made products. By purchasing a handmade rug from The Rug Line, you acknowledge and accept these natural characteristics.

These characteristics may include, but are not limited to:

  • Minor variations in size (generally within industry tolerances).
  • Natural dye lot variations.
  • Color shading or abrash.
  • Slight irregularities in weave or knot density.
  • Hand-finished edges.
  • Natural wool shedding during the initial use period.
  • Small variations in pile height.
  • Texture variations.
  • Minor pattern variations resulting from hand craftsmanship.
  • Natural fiber characteristics including slubs and uneven yarn thickness.

These characteristics are considered inherent qualities of handmade rugs and are not considered defects.

10. Product Images and Color Accuracy

We make every reasonable effort to display our products as accurately as possible.

However, actual colors may vary due to factors including:

  • Monitor calibration.
  • Mobile device display settings.
  • Lighting conditions.
  • Photography techniques.
  • Natural fiber color variation.

Product photographs are intended to provide a reasonable representation of each rug but are not guaranteed to be an exact color match.

For customers seeking the closest possible color match, we encourage requesting additional photographs or purchasing sample swatches when available.

11. Dimensions

All stated dimensions are approximate.

Because many rugs are individually handcrafted, finished dimensions may vary slightly from the listed size.

Such dimensional variations are considered normal within the handmade rug industry.

12. Product Availability

Inventory displayed on our Site is updated regularly but may occasionally become inaccurate due to simultaneous purchases, inventory adjustments, or unforeseen circumstances.

We reserve the right to cancel or limit quantities if inventory becomes unavailable after an order is placed.

If this occurs, customers will be notified promptly and refunded for any unavailable items.

13. Pricing

All prices displayed on the Site are listed in United States Dollars (USD) unless otherwise indicated.

Prices may change without prior notice.

Although we strive for accuracy, pricing errors may occasionally occur. We reserve the right to cancel orders arising from pricing inaccuracies, typographical errors, or system malfunctions.

If payment has already been received for an order that cannot be fulfilled due to a pricing error, we will promptly issue a refund.

14. Promotions, Discounts and Coupon Codes

From time to time, The Rug Line may offer promotional pricing, coupon codes, gift offers, or limited-time discounts.

Unless expressly stated otherwise:

  • Coupons may not be combined.
  • Promotions have no cash value.
  • Expired promotions cannot be reactivated.
  • Promotions may be modified or discontinued at any time.
  • Discounts apply only during the promotional period.
  • Promotional pricing cannot be applied retroactively.

We reserve the right to cancel promotional discounts that result from technical errors or misuse.

15. Order Acceptance

Receipt of an order confirmation email does not constitute acceptance of your order.

An order is considered accepted only after:

  • Payment has been successfully authorized.
  • Inventory availability has been confirmed.
  • Fraud screening has been completed.
  • The order has entered production or shipment.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our sole discretion.

16. Payment

Payment must be received and successfully authorized before an order is processed.

We accept payment methods displayed during checkout.

Customers represent that they are authorized to use the selected payment method.

Orders associated with suspected fraudulent activity may be delayed, verified, or cancelled.

17. Fraud Prevention

To protect our customers and business, we reserve the right to perform fraud prevention and identity verification procedures.

These measures may include:

  • Address verification.
  • Telephone verification.
  • Email confirmation.
  • Payment verification.
  • Identity verification.
  • Order review by our fraud prevention team.

Failure to complete requested verification may result in cancellation of the order.

18. Order Cancellation

Orders may be cancelled prior to shipment or prior to the commencement of production, subject to our cancellation policy.

Custom-made, personalized, or made-to-order rugs may not be cancelled once production has begun.

We reserve the right to cancel orders for reasons including:

  • Pricing errors.
  • Inventory shortages.
  • Suspected fraud.
  • Payment authorization failure.
  • Violation of these Terms.
  • Legal or regulatory requirements.

Where applicable, refunds will be issued to the original payment method.

19. Custom, Personalized and Made-to-Order Products

Certain products offered by The Rug Line may be custom-made, personalized, special-order, or made specifically after an order is placed.

Custom and made-to-order products may include, without limitation:

  • Rugs produced in non-standard dimensions.
  • Rugs made in a customer-selected color or material.
  • Modified versions of an existing design.
  • Products manufactured specifically for a particular customer.
  • Products identified on the Site as custom, made-to-order, special-order, or final sale.

Customers are responsible for reviewing and approving all specifications, measurements, colors, designs, and other customization details before production begins.

Once production has started, custom, personalized, and made-to-order products generally cannot be changed, cancelled, returned, or exchanged except where required by applicable law or where the product arrives materially different from the approved specifications.

Any requested change after production begins may be denied or may result in additional charges and a revised production timeline.

20. Customer-Provided Measurements and Specifications

Customers are solely responsible for the accuracy of all measurements, room dimensions, design specifications, installation requirements, and other information provided to us.

Before ordering a rug, customers should carefully measure the intended space and confirm that the selected dimensions are suitable.

The Rug Line is not responsible for:

  • Incorrect measurements provided by a customer.
  • A rug being too large or too small for the intended space.
  • Furniture placement or clearance issues.
  • Door clearance or installation limitations.
  • Differences between room photographs, digital renderings, and actual room conditions.

Any size recommendations, room visualizations, mockups, or design suggestions provided by us are for general guidance only and do not replace independent measurement or professional design advice.

21. Samples and Swatches

Where available, customers may request or purchase samples, swatches, or small reference pieces before placing a larger order.

Samples are intended to provide a general indication of color, texture, material, and construction. Because of natural fiber variation, dye lot differences, lighting, and handcrafted production, the finished rug may not match a sample exactly.

Unless otherwise stated, sample and swatch fees are non-refundable.

Samples marked “not for sale,” “reference only,” or similar wording may not represent a complete finished product and may not be resold.

22. Production Timelines

Production estimates for handmade, custom, special-order, and made-to-order rugs are approximate and may vary.

Production may involve multiple stages, including:

  • Design preparation.
  • Yarn sourcing and dyeing.
  • Loom preparation.
  • Weaving, knotting, tufting, or looming.
  • Washing.
  • Stretching and drying.
  • Finishing.
  • Quality inspection.
  • Packing and export preparation.

Production timelines may be affected by factors including material availability, artisan capacity, quality-control requirements, holidays, weather, transportation interruptions, customs delays, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Any estimated completion, shipment, or delivery date is an estimate only and does not constitute a guaranteed deadline unless expressly agreed in writing by an authorized representative of The Rug Line.

23. Production Updates

We may provide customers with production-stage updates, estimated completion dates, photographs, comments, or status summaries as a courtesy.

Production-stage descriptions such as “processing,” “weaving,” “washing,” “finishing,” “quality check,” “ready to ship,” or similar terms are general status indicators and may not reflect every step occurring at the manufacturing facility.

Status updates and projected dates may change as production progresses.

24. Shipping

Shipping methods, charges, and available destinations are displayed during checkout or communicated separately for special-order transactions.

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address.

The Rug Line is not responsible for delays, failed deliveries, or additional costs resulting from:

  • An incorrect or incomplete address.
  • An unavailable recipient.
  • Restricted delivery access.
  • Failure to respond to a carrier.
  • Refusal of delivery.
  • Failure to pay applicable duties, taxes, or fees.

Additional charges resulting from address corrections, redelivery, storage, return-to-sender, or refused shipments may be charged to the customer.

25. Delivery Estimates

Delivery dates and delivery windows shown on the Site, in order confirmations, during customer support interactions, or through SMS or email are estimates only.

Estimated delivery windows may be affected by:

  • Production delays.
  • Carrier processing times.
  • Weather conditions.
  • Customs inspections.
  • Port congestion.
  • Regional delivery restrictions.
  • Peak-season volume.
  • Events beyond our reasonable control.

The Rug Line does not guarantee delivery by a particular date unless a written delivery guarantee is expressly provided.

A delayed delivery does not automatically entitle a customer to cancel a custom or made-to-order product after production has begun.

26. Tracking Information

When available, shipment tracking information may be provided by email, SMS, telephone, or through a customer account.

Tracking information is supplied by the applicable shipping carrier. The Rug Line does not control the carrier’s tracking system and cannot guarantee that tracking events will appear immediately or remain error-free.

A tracking status showing “delivered” may constitute evidence of delivery to the address provided by the customer, subject to any applicable carrier investigation or consumer rights.

27. Delivery Inspection

Customers should inspect packages promptly upon delivery.

Before accepting delivery, customers should note any visible damage, crushing, tearing, water exposure, punctures, or other packaging concerns when permitted by the carrier.

Customers should retain:

  • The original packaging.
  • Shipping labels.
  • Photographs of the outer packaging.
  • Photographs of the product.
  • Any carrier paperwork.

Failure to retain packaging or provide requested evidence may affect our ability to pursue a carrier claim.

28. Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Products

If a product arrives damaged, materially defective, or different from the product ordered, the customer should contact us promptly at info@therugline.com.

The customer may be asked to provide:

  • The order number.
  • A written description of the issue.
  • Photographs or video of the product.
  • Photographs of the packaging and shipping label.
  • Measurements or other supporting information.

Customers should not discard, alter, clean, repair, install, cut, or use a reportedly damaged or defective product before receiving instructions from us.

After reviewing the claim, we may, as appropriate and subject to applicable law:

  • Provide care or correction instructions.
  • Arrange repair.
  • Provide replacement parts or a replacement product.
  • Offer an exchange.
  • Issue a partial or full refund.
  • Request return of the product.

A natural handmade characteristic described elsewhere in these Terms is not considered a defect.

29. Returns and Exchanges

Returns and exchanges are governed by our separate Return and Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Unless otherwise stated in that policy, returned products must generally be:

  • Unused.
  • Unwashed.
  • Unaltered.
  • Free from stains, odors, pet hair, dirt, damage, or signs of use.
  • Returned with original packaging where reasonably possible.

Return authorization may be required before a product is shipped back.

Unauthorized returns may be refused, delayed, or returned to the sender at the customer’s expense.

Original shipping charges, return shipping charges, handling fees, restocking fees, or other deductions may apply where permitted by law and disclosed in our Return and Refund Policy.

30. Non-Returnable and Final-Sale Products

Certain products may be non-returnable or final sale, including:

  • Custom-sized rugs.
  • Personalized rugs.
  • Made-to-order rugs.
  • Clearance or final-sale merchandise.
  • Used, altered, washed, installed, or damaged products.
  • Products returned outside the applicable return period.
  • Samples or swatches where stated.
  • Products that cannot be resold for hygiene, condition, or customization reasons.

Any final-sale designation will be disclosed on the product page, at checkout, in the order documentation, or through direct communication where reasonably practicable.

31. Refunds

Approved refunds are generally issued to the original payment method.

Processing times may vary depending on the payment provider, financial institution, or credit-card issuer.

We are not responsible for delays caused by a customer’s bank or payment provider after a refund has been submitted.

Where permitted, amounts owed to The Rug Line may be deducted from a refund, including:

  • Return shipping costs.
  • Restocking or handling fees.
  • Damage caused after delivery.
  • Missing components.
  • Unauthorized shipping charges.

32. Refused and Undeliverable Shipments

If a shipment is refused, unclaimed, undeliverable, or returned to us because of an address issue or customer action, the customer may be responsible for:

  • Original shipping charges.
  • Return transportation charges.
  • Carrier storage fees.
  • Customs charges.
  • Redelivery costs.
  • Administrative or handling expenses.

Custom or made-to-order products are not automatically refundable merely because delivery was refused or could not be completed.

33. Risk of Loss and Title

Risk of loss and title to purchased products transfer as provided by applicable law and the applicable shipping terms.

Where permitted by law, risk of loss may transfer upon delivery of the product to the shipping carrier. Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable consumer rights.

Customers should promptly report suspected loss, theft, or delivery errors so that a carrier investigation may be initiated.

34. International Orders

International orders may be subject to:

  • Customs duties.
  • Import taxes.
  • Brokerage charges.
  • Local handling fees.
  • Inspection delays.
  • Import restrictions.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, the customer is responsible for all duties, taxes, customs charges, brokerage fees, and other costs imposed by the destination country.

We are not responsible for delays, seizures, refusals, or additional charges resulting from customs or import regulations.

35. Rug Care and Maintenance

Customers are responsible for following appropriate care, cleaning, installation, and maintenance practices.

General care recommendations may include:

  • Using a suitable rug pad.
  • Rotating the rug periodically.
  • Vacuuming with appropriate settings.
  • Avoiding aggressive beater bars where unsuitable.
  • Blotting spills promptly.
  • Avoiding prolonged moisture exposure.
  • Using a professional rug cleaner experienced with the applicable fiber and construction.
  • Protecting the rug from excessive direct sunlight.

Care requirements vary by fiber, construction, dye, and use environment. Customers should consult the applicable product-care instructions before cleaning or treating a rug.

36. Shedding, Sprouting and Fiber Behavior

Some wool, viscose, silk, cotton, jute, and blended-fiber rugs may shed loose fibers, particularly during the initial period of use.

Hand-tufted rugs may shed more than certain other constructions, and natural-fiber rugs may release dust, fibers, or small particles.

Occasional yarn sprouting or loose ends may occur in handmade rugs. Customers should not pull loose yarns and should instead carefully trim them level with the surrounding pile where appropriate.

Normal shedding, sprouting, and natural fiber behavior are not considered defects unless materially excessive beyond what is reasonably expected for the product’s construction.

37. Flooring, Rug Pads and Installation

The Rug Line recommends using an appropriate rug pad where suitable to reduce movement, improve comfort, and help protect flooring.

Customers are responsible for confirming that any rug, rug pad, adhesive, tape, or installation method is compatible with their flooring.

We are not responsible for:

  • Floor discoloration.
  • Finish transfer.
  • Moisture trapping.
  • Slipping or movement.
  • Damage caused by incompatible rug pads or adhesives.
  • Damage resulting from improper installation or maintenance.

Customers with specialty flooring, heated floors, natural stone, unfinished wood, luxury vinyl, or other sensitive surfaces should consult the flooring manufacturer or a qualified professional.

38. Warranty Disclaimer for Product Characteristics

Except as expressly stated in writing or required by applicable law, The Rug Line does not provide a separate product warranty covering normal wear, misuse, improper cleaning, improper installation, accidental damage, pet damage, sun fading, moisture damage, mold, insects, chemical exposure, or ordinary handmade variations.

Any manufacturer warranty that applies to a particular product will be subject to the manufacturer’s own terms, exclusions, and claim procedures.

39. AI Customer Support and Telephone Services

To improve customer service and provide timely assistance, The Rug Line may utilize artificial intelligence ("AI") technologies, automated systems, virtual assistants, and live customer service representatives to assist customers.

40. Telephone Calls and Call Recording

Telephone calls with The Rug Line may be monitored or recorded for quality assurance, training, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, customer service improvement, and legal compliance where permitted by applicable law.

By continuing a telephone conversation with us after receiving any required notice, you consent to such monitoring or recording to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Call recordings may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for business, legal, security, or operational purposes.

The Rug Line does not send promotional or marketing SMS messages unless you separately opt in to receive such communications.

A message will only be sent if you clearly agree.

Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing goods or services.
